I would gladly recommend Amanda Melo of Spring Valley Spine and SportsCare to any athlete.  After injuring my right hip and shoulder in a race I found Amanda to be one of those rare individuals who are passionate about their work and helping others.  Amanda, and the entire SVSS staff are consummate professionals who listen intently and tailor every treatment program to suit each athletes needs.  After my first visit, I was able to get back on my bike and back to training.  Amanda has inspired me to continue on the path to greater physical and spiritual well-being.

THANK YOU FOR MAKING MY TRIP TO EUROPE WONDERFUL!

I have chronic back pain and have been treated by several specialists over many years. The only relief I could get was through prescription drugs. This was not the path I wanted to follow.

I was preparing for a month-long trip to Europe in early Fall 2009. I knew the touring was going to be long and stressful for me due to the chronic pain I endure.

Due to a doctor's recommendation, I began looking into acupuncture treatments. I traveled from Oklahoma to Dallas  to receive treatments from Ms. Melo, again based on the recommendation of a doctor. Because of those treatments, I was able to enjoy a month-long trip to Europe, visiting Belgium, France, Germany, Switzerland, and Italy.
I know I could not have done all of the sight-seeing without Amanda's help.

I will continue to seek the care of Amanda so that I can live a full life without the use of pain medication.

THANK YOU AMANDA!

I was very fortunate to find Amanda years ago as I searched for an acupuncturist to help me achieve optimal health.  I had experienced multiple miscarriages and was having a great deal of difficulty conceiving.  Something was very much out of balance for me and I knew I needed help.  Every acupuncture treatment I received from Amanda provided me with a deep sense of relaxation and well-being.  I really looked forward to my appointments with her.  She treats the whole person, not just the symptoms.  Today, my husband and I are the proud parents of a healthy and joyful 4 year old son.  Amanda is a professional who is committed to her work. She is a true healer!

I would like to testify about the great assistance and role that Five Element Acupuncture had in my recovery, especially my early recovery, from alcoholism and the cravings and obsessions associated with it.  As a drinker who has attended and completed multiple medical detoxification and rehabilitation programs, I found it very difficult to retain my sobriety and or abstinence for any significant length of time after the inpatient treatment.  Even with 12-step program attendance, I found the cravings for alcohol too much and would usually relapse shortly after my journey back into the “real world”.

This last time things have been different though, and I have been sober for over a year.  Granted, I was more dedicated than ever to my 12-step program and lifestyle changes, but I added something new to my recovery program this time.  It was Five Element Acupuncture.  Amanda Melo and I discussed my past difficulties with remaining sober after treatment.  We came to the conclusion that one of the major factors leading to my failure was the cravings that I would constantly have to fight.  I felt a physiological desire to pick up a drink, and experienced uncomfortable symptoms like anxiety and agitation when this desire occurred.  Amanda’s treatments on my total body twice a week   along with acupuncture points in the ears seemed to greatly alleviate my uncomfortable symptoms which used to only be appeased by picking up a drink.  I felt better all around and lost that phenomenon of craving that was my undoing so many times in the past.

This being said, I would highly recommend Amanda Melo and her acupuncture treatment as an integral part of a holistic, spiritual, 12-step program of recovery from alcoholism.

Sincerely,
A grateful recovering alcoholic who wishes to remain anonymous

In 2002, I found myself with a Shingles outbreak on the middle third, left side of my face.  I had recently met a new neighbor from Texas, and learned that Amanda Melo was an Acupuncture Physician.  I contacted her to learn if she treated Shingles.  I had a couple of treatments before I had a hepatic neuralgia attack early one morning.  I made an appointment to see Dr. Melo that afternoon, and before I could get to her office, I had the second attack.  My face felt like it was on fire and the pain covered the entire left side of my head.  About an hour later Dr. Melo began treating me.  I had several treatments during the two week period that followed, and I am delighted to say there was never another attack.  Since then, Dr. Melo has treated me for back pain, sinusitis, and general well being.  In 2008, she moved back to Texas.  My loss is Texas gain.  I am 75 years old, and in part attribute my health and well being to acupuncture and Dr. Amanda Melo.
